Day 9 - Tuesday 25 October
Another beautiful day saw us meet Pat and Tom Davis at Lookout mountain for the start of a days sightseeing. We visited Buffalo Bill’s grave and admired the views.
We then moved on to Historic Georgetown where Lloyd hosted us at the Clear Creek Inn with a fantastic lunch, well supported by Mike and Grumpy – who officiated over a little whisky/bourbon tasting. We had time before lunch for a wander round Georgetown, a former gold and silver mining camp with restored 19th century buildings.
The afternoon trip was to Breckenridge, through lovely scenery, the Eisenhower tunnel and a little snow. Again, time for a wander round, some shopping and a coffee before we said our final farewells to Pat and Tom who looked after us so well throughout our time in Denver.
We were joined by Karen from Denver CC for our last, delicious, dinner in Denver at Di Cicco’s.
Goodbye Denver. We are proud to be the first Scottish tour to visit and we will never forget the fun, friendship, hospitality and sisterhood we found here. We leave with a new tour motto – thanks to Karen and Donna
“We may get weary, but not weary of each other. We are sisters and we are there for each other”
