Day 2 - Tuesday 18 October 2022. Our first full day in the USA dawned bright and sunny. After breakfast in the hotel we went to the 7 Vines Vineyard in Dellwood, Minnesota.  We had a tour, tasted delicious wines and an excellent lunch. This was followed by a private tour of the James J Hill House in St Paul where we heard fascinating stories of Hill’s life, work and family. He was known as ‘The Empire Builder’ and masterminded the building of the Great Northern Railway.
We then had a lovely afternoon walk over the Stone Arch Bridge across the Mississippi River.
Our day time activities finished with a beer tasting, tour and supper at the Urban Growler brewery. Debs and Jill told us the story of how they began the company and we were please to hear how they are now prospering. The day was completed by having drinks and reminisces with the 2016 tourists who had visited Scotland.
