Day 4 - Thursday 20th October 2022
Our third day on tour and the busiest so far. We arrived at St Pauls Curling Club where we received a marvellous welcome and had the official opening of the tour, including being piped onto the ice. Shirley, our Captain, swept the first ceremonial stone to a button finish. We could not have had a nicer result with a tie overall.
A delicious lunch followed which included many of the vegetables grown in curlers gardens and and the table was set with wonderful china supplied by local curlers.
The afternoon saw us in Blaine at the Four Seasons Curling Club with another fantastic welcome. We curled against 5 teams named after Minnesota Department of Transportation’s 2022 Snowplough competition. Dinner followed with fun entertainment from the hosts and the tourists.
This was a wonderful start to the tour and we were overwhelmed with the welcome, hospitality and generosity of all our hosts. This was an emotional day and one which will remain in our memory for many years to come.
