Curling in Denver

Day 7 - Sunday 23 October 2022

The sky was deep blue and the leaves on the maple trees were deep red in Golden, Colorado this morning.

This is the first time the Scottish tour has visited Denver, where Pat Davis, Karen Bronson and their committee greeted us and impressed us with their kind and organised hospitality.

We received a very warm welcome at the rink from Nick Wellan, President of Denver Curling Club, Laura Weinberg the mayor of Golden and Jean McLachlan Hess, the chieftain of St Andrews Society of Colorado.

Teams Coruisk, Maree, Etive and Ness had a great game against Denver Curling Club and guests from Aksarben Curling Club, Omaha. Meanwhile, team Katrine who were on a bye enjoyed a walk along Clear Creek.

Pam and Tom Davis welcomed the tour and local guests to their home in the for a wonderful evening of hospitality, which proved a great end to another amazing day.
