Denver here we come

Day 5 - Friday 21 October 2022

Another early rise to get to the airport for our flight to Denver at 9.15am. A travel and sightseeing day with no curling. After hotel stays we are all looking forward to the first of our host stays. Our coach met us at Denver Airport and whisked us to Rock Creek Curling, a new, modern and bright curling venture, that opened in November 2021 and has lovely views towards the start of the Rocky Mountains. After an overview of the facility we were treated to a very tasty buffet lunch.

From there it was a coach ride to Denver Curling Center where we met up with our hosts. Plenty of chat and further refreshments and also a warning that due to its altitude (1609 meters) altitude sickness can be a hazard. The antidote? Drink plenty, water and NOT alcohol! We then all departed to spend the rest of the day with our hosts getting to know them better
