Hoedown Time

Updated: Nov 6, 2022

Day 17 - Wednesday 2 November

Said goodbye to our final home hosts at 7.15 this morning and boarded the bus heading for Bowling Green. Covering 3 states today!

Lunch enroute at Essenhaus, an Amish style restaurant serving Amish and Mennonite food. Lots of lovely Christmas decorations for our eagle eyed shoppers!

Then on to our hotel and a quick turn around for those heading to Spa treatments. Fingernails, feet and faces all received attention in preparation for the evening ahead.

On the bus again to meet the lovely members of Bowling Green Curling Club in the Shelter House Community Hall where we received a fabulous welcome along with a cowboy neckerchief and a glass of local cider and a delicious dinner prepared on large serving trays once again the work of club volunteers.

Then it was HOEDOWN time with a live western band and a caller to teach us some traditional Square Dances. Much spinning, circling and dos-a-dos - ing followed, then Auld Lang Syne was called for and we waved another sad goodbye saying ‘see you on the ice in the morning’!
