Day 19 - 4 November

Our travel day started with a flight from Detroit to Boston. The pattern of fond farewells continued as we said our goodbyes to Bob, our brilliant bus driver.

As we flew over the Great Lake Erie, I remembered the team names of our US counterparts who have named their teams after rivers, lakes and even snowploughs to match our teams, which are named after Scottish lochs. In Bowling Green we played against Superior, Erie, Huron and Michigan.

Our fourth flight takes us to our Eastern leg of the trip, and we make our way North from Boston to Belfast. We have now visited 9 US States on our Tour. We enjoyed a wonderful, sunny lunch stop at Stonewall Kitchen Company, New Hampshire, where we sat in the sunshine enjoying the opportunity of lobster BLT – and why not! They even had marmalade to taste, and our own Marmalade Queen gave her verdict.

The welcome at Belfast had a warm, Celtic feel, and we slept soundly with a navigation bell out in the bay lulling us gently through the night.
