Summer Croquet Fun

Updated: Aug 10, 2022

A hot summer's day in Edinburgh...what could be better than playing croquet with your tour sisters? After battling through some horrendous traffic from every direction, 13 of us gathered on the beautiful croquet lawns at Lauriston Castle.

All but three of us beginners, we had three games, changing teams and opponents each time. There were some fabulous shots and lots and lots of laughs. I bet Madge's whoops of delight could be heard over the water in Fife when she nailed a jump shot!

Although we had kept our strength up with Jill's Prosecco and gin cake, most of us went on to a local carvery for a late lunch. More chat and lots of eating; all good practice for our tour! This was followed by a generous invitation from Janette for dessert and drinks at her house.

It was such a joy to see each other in person again. We all agreed that we should make this an annual event.
